The PVC and Executive Dean, Engineering and Physical Sciences will lead the cross-disciplinary College covering engineering-related subject areas. Through strong leadership, innovation and entrepreneurship, they will lead the College’s success in terms of students, dual intensive research and teaching, business and other organisations, as well as professional body outcomes. They will develop a strategy and implement operational plans for its delivery within a cross-disciplinary College to create a coherent high-quality offering for students, businesses and the wider community in allied engineering subjects.  Delivery of these strategies and plans will be achieved through inspiring leadership and effective management of the College’s workforce, which consists of highly skilled, motivated and experienced academic and professional staff.

We are keen to hear from candidates who bring a proven track record of delivery in a senior academic role. Candidates will be able to evidence a personal track record of research credibility and achievement and have experience of leading and inspiring a diverse staff and student population.

Candidates must have credibility with key beneficiaries, evidenced by success in securing agreements and effective collaborations with relevant external beneficiaries, including industry and engineering sector organisations as well as funders such as EPSRC. A PhD or equivalent in an engineering-related subject area is essential.
