IU, the largest university in Germany, offers personalised higher education programmes across all formats – online, blended and on-campus. Key to its success has been the development of over 6,000 corporate partnerships, providing dual study and upskilling programmes, supporting organisations to educate their employees for the digital age.
Whilst it is the largest provider of higher education in Germany, with considerable reach across Germany, Austria and Switzerland, since 2021 IU has grown significantly beyond German-speaking countries. It now hosts over 10,000 international students, bringing together the best of edtech with mainstream higher education. This is the first step to IU becoming a global HE provider of choice, with a targeted presence planned in the UK.
IU’s college in London has been established to provide UK accredited hybrid and online programmes in business and management, data and IT, and engineering. The College’s Principal and Registrar have been appointed and now the senior team is being expanded in parallel with the OfS accreditation process.
Reporting to the Principal, the Head of Operations will oversee the creation and development of effective and efficient business functions, including student services, to meet the current and future needs of IU in the UK. You will be central to developing and implementing strategy, policy, procedure and processes that enhance all aspects of the IU student and staff experience, working with senior colleagues, external partners and IU Group departments and management.
This is a new role in a high growth, distinctly ambitious setting and a self-starter who thrives on building intelligent and cutting-edge operating systems is sought. Applicants will be able to demonstrate a proven track record of success in operations/project management and the provision of relevant support services. Experience delivering exceptional performance and excellent customer service across a full range of relevant functions is essential. Edtech or higher education expertise would be preferred.
Applications must include a full CV and a letter of application setting out your interest in the role and details of how your knowledge, skills and experience match the essential criteria (no more than two pages).
Please send applications to IU-operations@networkedpeople.com.
